This interesting and diversified position reports to the Senior Product Development Food Technologist. This is an excellent opportunity for you to use your 2 years minimum Product Development experience, your creativity and your interpersonal skills. You will assist in driving the development of new products from concept to implementation of both the Retail and QSR channels.

Your position combines both hands-on capabilities to undertake product development projects and support production through on-line troubleshooting, as well as strategic capabilities to assist product research and development initiatives to support and promote the business plan. Your main responsibilities are;

• Assist in projects as assigned
• Primary focus on Fresh and Fresh Value Added plus Frozen products.
• Independently generate new product concepts and prepare concept samples for presentation to National Sales & Marketing teams.
• Preparation of concept samples as requested in marketing briefs.
• Prepare formal presentations of new products as required
• Assist with the development and refining of production processes and specifications for new products.
• Prepare manufacturing documents and prototype cost information for each assigned project from concept to launch.
• Work effectively as a member of the Product Development team to achieve the marketing and operational goals of the business.
• Factory trial co-ordination and reporting
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with suppliers

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Food Technology or similar
• Minimum 2 to 3 years experience in food development in a complex marketing driven environment.
• WQA, Coles Plus, SQF, ANZFA, VITAL
• Labelling legislation
• Excellent communication skills and a hands-on approach are essential attributes, which will complement your technical flair and passion for product development.

A competitive salary is offered plus superannuation.
