Our client, a cutting-edge and stylish designer, producer and distributor of contemporary and innovative baby products, giftware, soft furnishings and is in the market for an experienced Product Manager to oversee and manage the importation of all orders, from start to finish, along with any issues that may arise. In this highly challenging and pivotal role you will work closely with the Managing Director and product development team and have significant input into new product ranges from conception stage to delivery. Your major responsibilities include the following: - Determining the most appropriate Chinese factory to have goods manufactured and raising subsequent purchase orders
- Liaising with suppliers on a regular basis to ensure all orders are dispatched in a timely manner and to specification
- Ensuring preproduction and production samples meet the customer’s specifications and that they are shipped on time and are correct
- Researching marketplace for product for specific promotions and sourcing suppliers that can deliver to specification
- Reviewing and maintaining order progress and new product development
- Dealing with all correspondence on a daily basis relating to import queries
- Managing the QA process to ensure that all products meet the customer’s quality assurance standards
- Preparing for and attending meetings with major customers
To be considered for this fantastic opportunity will possess the following key attributes: - A strong understanding of shipping documents and managing Chinese suppliers
- Experience with supplying the major Australian retailers similar products
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- A high degree of computer literacy especially Excel
