Ending the Nursing Shortage

The Rudd Government has promised an $81 million to train and recruit an extra 9250 nurses for Australian hospital. The plan includes an increase in the number of nursing places in universities and also a $6000 cash incentive for nurses who had been out of the health workforce for more than a year. This is a direct action by the government to boost the number of people starting a career in nursing.
