My client is a market-leading Solutions provider who have enjoyed a strong 2011 and go into 2012 with fantastic prospects ahead of them. This growth means that they are now looking to recruit a Graduate Oracle/Linux Developer to join their Database Development Team.

I am looking for candidates who are technically capable & possess a positive & flexible attitude to work. Joining a high performing team of Oracle & SQL Server development specialists you will work on building client solutions & new & existing product development. This role has the scope to develop your database (Oracle mainly but also SQL Server) skills significantly & help with your journey to becoming a full life-cycle (SDLC) practitioner.

The successful applicant need a strong grasp of Data and Data principles & have a passion for and a commitmGent to building a career in the Oracle field. Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL is critical (stored procedures, packages, triggers etc) on large, high transactional databases. Any SQL Server experience would be useful but is not essential and training is available for the right candidate. Good scripting skills would be extremely useful (ideally Linux but other Scripting skills considered, Korn, Shell, Perl) . This is a varied role, involving database development but also Scripting work, data loads, supporting batch processes, system testing and data analysis. Strong diagnostic/problem solving skills are essential as you look to fix bugs etc.

Strong communication skills are essential as you engage with internal and external stakeholders of varying levels of technical knowledge so the ability to flex your communication style is key. This role requires the ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines as this team are very busy.
